Seed Pathology and Seed Health Technology March 2-27, 2009. The course will
be sponsored by the Vegetable Breeding and Seed Systems (vBSS)
of AVRDC under Bill and Melinda Gates funding. |

All Africa Workshop to sensitize countries in Africa to review their A1 and
A2 lists of plant pathogen to facilitate exchange of germplasm
between countries in Africa and abroad. Tentative dates May 25-29.
The workshop will be organized by the African Seed Health Centre, the Vegetable
Breeding and Seed Symptoms in Collaboration with the InterAfrican
Phytosanitary Council (IAPSC) based in Cameroon. Venue: Arusha,
Tanzania

A short course on Plant Health Inspectors, August 11-15, 2008. The course
was sponsored by the Nematology initiative for Eastern and Southern
Africa (NIESA). It was part of the project for building capacity
in nematology in Eastern Africa, sponsored by the Gatsby Charitable
Foundation, UK. A total of 14 participants from Kenya (3), Tanzania
(7), Mozambique (1) Zimbabwe (1) Western Darfor (Sudan) (1),
Uganda (1) attended the course. |

Seed Pathology and Seed Health Technology, September 1-12, 2008. The course
was sponsored by the Vegetable Breeding and Seed Systems (vBSS)
of AVRDC. Africa office. Participants came from Mali (3), Cameroon
(2), Madagascar (2), Mozambigue (1), Tanzania (6), Plant Inspectors,
Seed Certification personnel.
